I know a lot of folks aren’t going to like the interior swap, but the interior swap is what actually makes this truck liveable. If you wanted to daily this truck, you could. Why? Because old interiors wore you out.

After compromising for a number of years with automatics it’s now back to three pedals. I realize that in a couple of years it might mean that I’ll be forced into buying only used cars. I blame all of you who buy paddle shift cars because “Dude, it is .04 faster from 0-60!”

Just because Tom votes for it, doesn’t make it so. Radar Love, despite some dated references, is still awesome.

Radar Love is an excellent song. Get’s you pumped.

I could see owning this. Probably a bit overpriced, but then again, how many are there out there in this kind of condition and with all the service records?

Find a wrecked GTI (theres many) and buy the plaid seats.  Plug and play.

VANOS issues and repairs are blown way out of proportion. If you start hearing the dreaded ticking from the VANOS, you can send the units to Dr. VANOS for a rebuild which will only set you back around $2K or less if you can pull them from your car without a mechanic.

Went from the worst Continental to the best M5. Nice!

This one came up on the local FB BMW classifieds. I’d pay the $3,000 more for a well sorted one.

I only ever seem to see these driven by guys you would normally expect behind the wheel of a Subaru WRX.

Except the Jetta TDI gets great MPG, thereby justifying it's existence. The Mazda diesel was barely better than the gas engines they sold

Yeah, if they had delivered this thing back when they first started teasing it forever ago I think they could have had a winner. I could see plenty of people driving Jetta TDIs at the time going in for a diesel CX-5. Instead, it took far too many years to arrive, during which there was a dieselgate scandal, decent

I don’t expect perfection. I’m even with you on the point of getting it into beater status. But when you’re talking about spending real cash and a ton of labor just to get your car to beater status, it’s not worth it. At a minimum you’re going to need to replace the seats, replace the rear window, replace the tires

You might get a better looking Ferrari for $60k, but it will not be a V12 Ferrari. And that is the appeal here, it is the cheapest model that gets you into the V12 club.

Invest a few hundred bucks in a detail, you cheap bastard.

Nakamichi made period-appropriate head units until a few years ago (great sound too), for only spendy money, not stupid money - $250-$350. But I had three of them and they all failed within 5 years or so. And I have never found anywhere that fixes them. Blaupunkt now has one that is period correct looking, but it’s

Honestly, I feel like the buyers of these cars would have more fun with a stripped/prepped Miata and a normal M3 instead of paying for the CS M3
