In ‘89 I drove one of these, although with a 4 cylinder, as a rental car in Europe. A lot of fun, and really neat styling for the time. 

In SoCal this thing would have been so gone! Assuming there are no rust issues. 

This certainly is another reason why I am not looking forward to the cars of the future. I am guessing that the perfect vehicle for a car enthusiast, who likes to do his own maintenance, has already been made some time ago. Also, it likely was not a GM product built in this century.

Well written. I couldn’t agree more. Last month I saw a unmodified 240Z with a driver of the appropriate vintage. I had forgotten how small those vehicles were and how fine the chrome bumper pieces were. Unfortunately there is a price for all the safety we have now come to take for granted.
