Perhaps, but deadly. I think it was a ‘67 that killed my neighbor due to lack of a collapsible steering column. It was only a 30-35 mph crash within a mile of his home.

Right! At 2:07 in last clip it is out of alignment compared to the headlight chrome rings.

Deer? By all means, but please note there are other things out there. Once I came upon a distressed driver at night in the middle of Florida. He hit a wild boar. The impact smashed his windshield and caved in the roof of his Acura Integra. The driver never had a chance. The boars are black and don’t really care to get

Jason, thank you for making this point. Although given the amount of chrome on the front of those trucks, I really doubt the assertion that this styling trend is only because of the SAE J2807. This is just a modern take on tail fins! There are other ways to improve cooling.

Brilliant, but it should should come a preset. Call it the Bro-dozer management feature.

As you are posting to an enthusiast website, this is a big part of the overall experience. Most all, seeing as you are an enthusiast, I am sorry that you are missing out on something that is becoming quite rare. There comes a certain level of satisfaction from knowing what gear to be in when exiting the favorite

I never considered why all VW hatch covers are that way. Just took it for granted because there was nothing objectionable about it. Thank you.

Well said. I have considered where design has come in the last 20 years. Are our cars that much better than they were a generation ago? Not in all respects. For my 2 cents... Earlier this month I fit a 70" and 270 pound bandsaw into a 2014 VW TDI Jetta sportwagon. Got 40 mpg on the 110 mile trip. I think the prior

GTI? Hardly. Looks like an ideal bread or a florist delivery wagon. Just needs some magnetic signs, and you can write off your mileage.

That is awesome! Sad to say it is all too true today with the ever increasing presence of infotainment systems in cars, but less this obsession with ever increasing C pillars. I hopped into the driver’s seat of a BMW X2 at the dealer and felt like I was sitting at an entrance of a cave.

You must not be in California. Add a buck and change.

Please add BBC and The Globe.

Thank you for sharing the story. I am so sorry for your accident - I can only imagine. Having been t-boned on a motorcycle while doing 45 mph many years ago, I feel very lucky that there were no long-term effects. The guy’s bumper hit my peg. It was a hit and run.

With all due respect, please get a cooler and use it! There is no reason to die from heatstroke. If you die that is one thing, but you may likely take out others in the process. (Just 2 cents from from Ft.Hood / Bliss soldier who has put M1 tank track on by hand in July heat.)

Sorry to hear about your experience. This is not the first such lawyer story I have heard. I do so hate cheap skates who play financial games like the impala driver.  Your story makes me realize how lucky I got off when I got rear-ended four states away from home and had to abandon my car while on vacation.

Well written Sir!

Having driven an A4 TDI with a sick in Europe some 20 years ago, this combo is lust worthy.  Although I have my DSG TDI wagon now, I would prefer a manual any day. It is not about speed but entertainment.

A manual Volvo? A diesel manual Volvo? That is forbidden in the states. But, rollin’ coal is just fine! Go figure!

Testing and comparing super cars on the back roads of Napa during a weekend? Why, what could possibly go wrong? Really... that is pretty sad and thoughtless.

A SAAB and a Manual!
