Sorry to hear about your experience. This is not the first such lawyer story I have heard. I do so hate cheap skates who play financial games like the impala driver.  Your story makes me realize how lucky I got off when I got rear-ended four states away from home and had to abandon my car while on vacation.

Well written Sir!

Having driven an A4 TDI with a sick in Europe some 20 years ago, this combo is lust worthy.  Although I have my DSG TDI wagon now, I would prefer a manual any day. It is not about speed but entertainment.

A manual Volvo? A diesel manual Volvo? That is forbidden in the states. But, rollin’ coal is just fine! Go figure!

Testing and comparing super cars on the back roads of Napa during a weekend? Why, what could possibly go wrong? Really... that is pretty sad and thoughtless.

A SAAB and a Manual!

Or commute via Bicycle!

Thank you for raising this question that seems to beguile many a BMW salesman. I can’t tell you how often I have set the search engine to “Manual” and gotten many a listing without the requisite clutch pedal.

Not cool. Wooden bridges can’t handle that.

During a bicycle commute some years ago I did have an elderly couple come straight at me on the bicycle path in their early 80s Mercedes 300D. They stopped for me and I asked them if I can help. They said - “No thanks, we are just seeing where the road goes.” I then disclosed that they are on a bicycle path that will

I had a friend show up to prom with one when Chrysler first came out with them. The only year that was cool.

That is the best use of a Murano Cabrio!

Amen!

A neighbor just got a $46K Explorer for not wanting to spend $3K on her Lexus Rx300. I understand that it needed new tires, and major service. The sales tax on the Ford is about $3,680 because you get no credit for a trade-in with respect to sales taxes in California. The sales tax she paid on the new vehicle is more

Use it or lose it! My mantra for having just pedaled 8 miles this a.m. with 25 lb. pack. This commute will add up to 80 miles this week with about 4,800 ft. of climbing. - Contemplation from the bike lane.

I am so sorry that this happened to this woman. No doubt it will change the rest of her life.

We have a VW Mk4 Golf that was brought to the marriage. 17 years, 155K miles on the original clutch. I added an OEM cat, upgraded the suspension to Bilstein, replaced bushings with Audi bits, etc., and all the associated stretch bolts. I hate the mouse-fur seats, and the interior is supposed to be easy to recycle -

I hope not. This weekend I had a blast passing BMWs, etc going up hill at 80 mph on I-15. They all slowed down on the incline. The TDI with DSG never even had to downshift. All while getting 40+MPG. The BMW X1 one the same road had to put more effort into keeping the speed up.

I think I had a four door version as a rental for a week. It sucked - thus I have never been inspired to look at GM anything since.

Makes me want to hold onto my VW TDI Sportwagen. It does 80 mph uphill on the interstate without downshifting - unlike the BMW X1 it test drove.
