Reminds me the time I saw a retiree fueling his Maybach at Costco. Somethings are not worth it! The depreciation will far outweigh any potential savings.

An electric bike? Is it for commuting or actually mountain-biking? I got passed by two e-bikes today going uphill on my commute. I am looking forward to returning the favor on the way home.

Just the neighbor getting dropped off. But the sound was unreal!

In Europe last time around my rental turned out to be a new Audit A4 with CVT + auto stop/instant restart. The thing would shut off while trying to parallel park, or merging at a traffic circle. Never again! All take a manual Golf any vintage and day instead of that infuriating car!

M3 = tasteful. It is from the days when you had to know what made a car special without it being obnoxious.

Made my Saturday! Right before CarTalk! (I relish the vintage - Top Gear, Car Talk. Somethings are perfect the way they were!)

Sorry, but I got no pity for you! A New Golf R? Really? Then you go onto highly recommend anything underpowered? I got that covered. Fiat X1/9 - 67 hp on a good day!

TDI of any ilk get well with a manual! Audi A4 TDI was the first one for me.

OMG a hatchback! The new Tesla doesn’t have that!

I am just amazed that it is a manual. When was the last time that was seen in the US?

On our SW, the service dept either failed to secure or reinstall the screws that hold up the aerodynamic belly pan. It was six months before we noticed because the car stays in town. But when I took it out on the interstate, at speeds above 70 mph, it felt as if the front wheels were about to come off. Only cost me a

No, Audi has nothing to do with three pedals.... which is why some default to VW.

Likely that you have have had to own the vehicle before the fraud came to light. That was there requirement with the deal on the credit card; one $500 visa and one $500 VW dealer card. We haven’t used the dealer card yet.

Really? Isn’t there a better place for an GM post than this?

Tom,

Vaporware! Nice to see they can do it, but they are too busy selling cars in China.

I am not looking forward to getting by CA TDI smogged the next time around. Diesels were already faced extra penalty in that smogging was required 2 years after purchase. Gas cars are 6 years (I believe.) At least for $55 bucks it was nothing more than making sure that there were no modifications. There was no

Agreed! Just how far will manufacturers go out of their way to “not put a hatch” where there should be one? I will take the wagon any day! (But only with three pedals, please.)

I like the comment that the CVT does a good job a “simulating an auto transmission.” King of sad, but likely appropriate for the civic crowd.

We have a ‘11 TDI sportswagen with only 32K. I was hoping to get many more years of family use out of it, and was also contemplating a Golf R - 4 door. We may have been screwed on the wagon. More to the point, I can’t image giving any more money of VW (or Audi) due to their corporate attitude. I just got to get over

Agreed! Did the shop have such cars on site when you have been there in the past? What do the mechanics drive? Are they enthusiasts? What gave you confidence that they have the capability for this job? (i.e. the correct manuals and tools?) Sad to say that I have learned these questions as my own cost. I to have become
