They’re federal, not state judges, so they’re part of the federal judiciary, a separate, coequal branch of government. We have separation of powers, dividing government into executive, legislative and judicial branches. Legislative makes law, executive carries out the law and judicial assesss the legality of laws.

I’m sure a grand jury would have been interested in knowing why the police hid the video, and possibly lied about whether the officer was responding to a strong arm robbery. Determinant? I don’t know. Relevant? Absolutely. If an officer lied about one thing, everything else he says is suspect.

Yes, it should cut both ways. No juror, of any race, should be invoking race to assess guilt.
