My only gripe about Wee Britain is it’s not based off of anything real. I grew up in Orange County, and AD is FULL of references and *ahem* allusions to various events and locations there (Living Classics Pageant, the Wetlands, Fashion Island, the Banana Stand, etc.). I wish so badly Wee Britain was some sort of real

“And local calls are $1.99/minute. That’s how they get you.”

“Steve Holt is a bastard. He doesn’t even know who is own father is.

20 years later, it’s easy to forget how novel AD was for its time. Single camera? Flashbacks? Lengthy groundwork for punchlines that won’t arrive for half a season (or later)? No one was doing that in 2003.

It sure is!

Take me to your secular world.

Chandler was, to me, the most amusing character on Friends by a significant margin.

Yeah, I always hated that he gets Avada-ed and yet stands there, staggering for a few moments. The curse has never worked that way in any other moment in even the film series.

It was certainly a choice, but at least it was something other than the pedestrian cinematography of the rest of the non-Cuaron series.

Phoenix makes almost no sense if you haven’t read the book. I was super pumped when the trailer dropped, but the final result was disappointing. I wanted to see magical brains eating Ron’s face!

Yates would not be perfect for the series. He’s a middling director who botched Order of the Phoenix, lucked out that Bruno Delbonnel shot Half-Blood, and didn’t have to make hard choices by keeping nearly all of the content of Deathly Hallows across two films. (And even that had some boneheaded changes.)

Agreed. But he's amazing in Jupiter Ascending.

Insert “Alan!” raptor GIF.

I'm working my way through it right now, and it's constantly gut-busting funny, and more so than much new stuff I check out.

Oddly, a lot of serious Frasier fans don’t care for “Frasier Crane Day.”

“That's right! I said I love her!"

They obviously finished everything before Ray Stevenson died and didn’t alter any of Baylan’s storyline to reflect the need for being written out or anything like that.

I mean... this isn’t quite the same thing as Swift rerecording albums specifically to regain control of them. This is simply a remix of an existing work.

Agreed. I think T2 and Titanic are his only superior films.

A great movie that was only augmented by the superior extended edition, which brought a ton of clarity to the proceedings.
