welcome to the new healthcare dystopia: pharma companies jack up the prices on generic drugs because they know you’ll die without them. my asthma inhaler used to be $8.00 and now they price has been jacked up over $60.00

I grew up in a pretty small place. My teachers always kept an extra eye out for me. One might offer me $10 if I stayed after school and changed out her decorated boards for the next season. Another paid for my field trip fees because my parents couldn’t. One even invited me to her house to have a big Thanksgiving

LOL. LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

Is it possible to OD on schadenfreude? Asking for a friend.

Nancy totally stole your lunch money, bubbeleh. Sad!

I understand how reasonable diversion sounds to you. As someone who works in the courts day after day, I agree that this is normal. However, we all act like prosecutorial discretion doesn’t exist. Like we’re doing her some giant favor by not throwing her in jail. It’s not okay to pat ourselves on the back for not

and if you follow Chris Evans on Twitter, you will find out that it’s literally true, Cap has zero patience left with this crap

The prosecutor’s probably a stickler who thinks insurance fraud is Very Serious and he’s being compassionate by letting her participate in a diversion program, without actually using his analytical skills to figure out that not all insurance fraud is equal and that this was a ‘crime’ of necessity and compassion. My dad was a doctor and I can tell you that cost skyrocket like mad in clinics—payment for staff, meds, equipment—and unfortunately all that’s reflected in the billing. Plus, wrestling insurance companies for payments requires another full time staff member on its own!

So, this case definitely exposes many issues in our society today. Yet, all the claims about how the justice system failed in this situation seems to be missing a few key points. First, she turned herself in for the listed charges to get ahead of the situation and her own integrity. That in itself starts a legal ball

Captain America for President. Black Widow for head of the FBI.

I had to send in copies of my kids birth certificates to prove their ages and eligibility to be counted as my family for health insurance. The requests came from the provider with dire warnings about how people were fraudulently obtaining insurance and that this was COSTING US ALL!!!!!!

As a teacher, if I found out, by whatever normal means, as I sometimes do, that one of my students was really struggling, I’d keep an extra eye out for them. It sounds like that’s what’s happening here, this particular student is in a really difficult position and this superintendent has been trying to help out if she

Captain America is 1000% done with your shit, America.

This just shows you who the law is actually designed to serve.

If the news report this morning is accurate, the school is also not going to fire her, which is good. It feels like half the time in these cases, school districts ignore context and get rid of anybody who might be considered “problem”.

Reason 1,000,000,000,000,002 our healthcare and justice dept are in need of reform. She helped a sick student. A student that has a superintendent that cares as much as her is lucky.

The doctors on Scrubs pulled stuff like this all the time.
