Any wagons.
Any wagons.
There are a few roads in Texas with an 85 mph speed limit, but the vast majority of highways have limits of 60-75 mph.
Is it 2002?
When this car comes... We will know. Because we will both be driving it.
Might I suggest the GTI? I bought mine CPO with 6k miles for $24,500. I've averaged 30.3 MPG (mostly highway) over 20,000 miles. It's fun when you want, efficient when you want, and always practical. It carries 4 pretty nicely. Not quite 300 hp but it's a light car.
America! Fuck yeah!
The RWD part is what you're probably not gonna get when that vehicle becomes available. Seriously, the closest car to your target is probably a new F150, even though it doesn't have the mileage. It's got the horsepower, the RWD, and the price.
Well, maybe I was exaggerating a bit. Same here.
That sounds damn near the perfect automobile. Let me know if you find it.
Thanks for explaining. I live in Texas, where even middle-class families have three car garages :)
Holy shit. I love this column. Best thing you've ever written, Hamilton.
Interesting - can you elaborate on that? And don't you think the relatively wealthy clientele who will be after a Model S will have a garage?
Which car is your username referring to? Is it a real car or a mythical being?
I have a 2010 with plaid heated seats and sunroof. You might be able to add the SE-level features you want a la carte and keep the plaid seats.
I'm not sure if you've driven one recently, but a 4 cylinder turbo is the proper engine for this car. The desire for a 6 in this car is odd. It's a light, zippy, efficient, do-everything car that has plenty of power.
The tartan seats kick so much ass. Probably 80% of the girls I've picked up for dates in my GTI have made a comment about how much they love the plaid seats!
