New York’s governor forced all non-essential businesses to close from March 20 to May 15.  That’s the closest thing to a lockdown we ever had.  Doing this likely saved tens of thousands of lives.  Even with these measures, daily deaths in the state hit 1000 for several days in April.

Masks alone are not enough, and there is an executive order in Florida that prevents private events from requiring proof of vaccination. I suspect you're under a lot of misconceptions here.

A big part of keeping those cases numbers down, and any infections less severe, is vaccination, so GDQ rightly mandates it for attendance at the event, which they would not be able to do in Florida. More accessibility/difficulty options in a game is always a good thing. There’s no reason I can see (other than an appeal to the tryhards) that a “director’s vision” experience cannot coexist with options, sliders, and whatnot that make the game’s content available to the vast majority of your customer base.

I’ve always been saying a HP or defence boost would be the ideal way to implement an “easy mode” in a soulslike for precisely the reason you outlined here. Neat that devs might be starting to realise this.
