This has happened to me once a week for 25 years of driving. I have managed to save myself hundreds of times from the same sort of situation with nothing more sophisticated than the Mk.I eyeball, a steering wheel and a brake pedal.

I love these stories because of the two predictable types of people they always bring to the yard:

When I was divorced from my wife of ten years, I learned that she had taken to driving 90 mph everywhere. She brags about it to friends, and she mentioned it to me during one of the few conversations we’ve had since the divorce.

Those all get snapped up by the taxi companies. No, for us, the market will be awash in Avalons.

4th:

500x only offers the turbo 1.4 and manual trans in the FWD Pop trim level. Any AWD model gets the 2.4 Tigershark and 9-speed auto. Also, any trim level higher than Pop (which is the entry-level trim) gets the 2.4 and 9-speed, regardless of whether it’s AWD or not.

I bought a 2013 in February 2014. Between the rebate Fiat was offering, a sales event the dealer was advertising, and the fact they really wanted the previous-year models off the lot, I walked out the door with a Brand new Abarth for about $17,000, down from the sticker price of $23,500-ish.

That, and my last two Fiats have been more reliable and better put together than any of my last three VW/Audi products I owned, like my last A3 that was getting rebuilt, part-by-part, since the day it was new. My Abarth is coming up on 60,000 miles, and I’ve done nothing to it but routine maintenance.

My neighbors hate mine because I leave for work at 5 am.

Wait, his real name on his birth certificate is “Dealio?”

Yeah, the Blackvue looks great. If anything ever happens to my elcheapo Amazon special, it will be on my list for sure as a possible replacement. So far, elcheapo has been pretty rock solid, though.

That’s a good looking rig. I use a much older, cheaper solution called 4Sight:
