Well, this is the dumbest thing I’ve seen on the internet today.

Insurance fraud exists. In the universe of things this could have been, it ranks pretty fucking low. As in, of all the possible things you could irresponsibly speculate about it being, that makes no sense.

I hate to break it to you, but no one is going to attempt insurance fraud this way. Insurance fraud doesn’t usually include obviously illegal activity like 27 people crammed into a single SUV playing roulette to see who dies and who lives.

Not obviously.  It is quite common in California for farmers and farm labor companies to use as few vehicles as possible to move as many bodies as possible to the fields, regardless of the legal status of those in the cars.  Not for themselves, mind you.  Just the day laborers.  This could just as easily be that.

That is a remarkably stupid idea.

This. It’s every bit as likely (probably more likely) that these were farm workers being driven to the next farm.

People want cheap produce. This is the cost.

Did you read the article or just skip it to post that?

This American Life did an episode about the numbers games that dealerships and sales people play with manufacturers. They don’t really care if the car comes back either. Sometimes they just need those quotas up enough to qualify for the bonuses and manufacturer incentives. If the car comes back, the numbers still get

I imagine that Finland has very consistently cold weather in the winter which means switching to snow tires is fine. However, a lot of places in the United States can have wild swings from warm to cold temperatures. Based on the best information I can find, winter tires are only rated for temperatures below 45°F

“Why do they call them ‘Apple Jacks’ if they don’t taste like apples?” They just do, man. They just do.

A small part of my amazement was that there wasn’t a stream of suspension parts behind him.

No. Tesla has sold about a million Model 3s and Model Ys combined (they use the same batteries) and there have only been 2 cases of spontaneous battery fires, both after some kind of serious battery damage. One in Russia collided with a truck and then caught on fire, the other, in China, ran over an improperly-secured

WTH is with you people and pooping in stressful situations? It does not happen unless you die.

That secound video and time would be an eighth mile. You’d have trap above (near?) 300mph for a sub-4s 1/4 pass. He traps at 193.

I think that might Camaro was in the air longer than the Wright brothers were. That’s some good distance.

Goes back out and does another run.

Agreed. Laredo and Grand Laredo. It’s a name that’s already familiar with Jeep buyers.

I vote a name that already has a proud Jeep history: Laredo.

Maybe, but unlike the Camry TRD, a GT Stinger was generally praised by journalists, including those who drove it for a while.
