Don’t forget that the first Space Shuttle Orbiter was also the Enterprise, although it was only used for testing and never went into space.

Got to see one up close at the Cleveland Auto Show a couple of weekends ago. Unfortunately it wasn’t open to get in, but from what I could see it looks impressive, but I’d want one with the diesel over the turbo 4.

People who wish that the FJ Cruiser was still produced and can afford but don’t want a Unlimited Rubicon?

Take it from someone born and raised in North St. Louis County, it is a horribly racist place.

Dammit. Random Rover P5 things slipping into my brain. Disregard that portion as I can no longer edit it.

The only one I can think of is probably the hydraulic system in the Mercedes 600.

My JSW has black painted metal B-pillars. The only reason I’m confident in this is the two paint chips on the drivers door.

That’s almost the same opinion I have for convertibles. Give me the lighter, stiffer car with a solid roof.

The seat mounted seatbelts is one of two things I miss from my Trailblazers. The other being the ability to have just the backrest heated, that was amazing for back pain.

In the US you used to have Coupes (4 and 2 door) that didn’t have the B-pillar and Sedans (4 and 2 door) that had the B-pillar. Later on when 4 door coupes were no longer a thing, you had coupes without the B-pillar and 2 door posts that had the B-pillar.

This wasn’t uncommon in the days of bench seats and is the reason that “three on the tree” became an American term for a 3-speed manual with the shifter on the steering column

Sad to see you go, but happy to see you moving forward like a shark. Always be a shark, never be a sheep.

Thank you for the correction.

The 470 arguably has a more reliable drivetrain in it (3UZ and the five speed auto after all) but the 460 is better in pretty much every other metric.

If it’s the same one used on the current Jetta, you won’t want to be under the hood using it. It is a flexing piece of crap you expect to fail at any moment.

The shot from the rear looks super awkward. Hopefully I’ll get to see one up close in person on Sunday to see if maybe it’s just a bad angle or if it’s that weird.

This. Especially after the fiasco that was the C7 Z06 cooling system originally. You think they would have learned their lesson then.

Just to add a few more African-American racers to everyone’s consciousness.

It’s Lewis, but yeah I’d like to know if Lewis knew about Ribbs growing up. I’m not sure how much coverage Trans-Am and IMSA got in Britain but the Indy 500 is an event that definitely got covered there.
