I see a Dakota in Youngstown on a regular basis that I’m pretty sure is using ratchet straps to hold the frame together.

^This 100%

This. Beer with actual flavor doesn’t need to be just above freezing to be enjoyable.

It’s a great car, but no car will ever be 100% in all areas.

Bridgestone Blizzaks, Nokians, and Michelin X-Ice seem to be the best snow tires out there.

I saw a post on Facebook the other day that was “You have $100K to buy one vehicle that will be your daily. It must be able to deal with a Norther US winter.” and the only thing I could think of was 200-series Land Cruiser/LX570. These things are supposedly designed to withstand 30+ years of constant off-road use.

I think we all get why it’s the go-to engine swap solution, but that doesn’t make the lack of creativity (only word I can think of at the moment) any less despairing. The LS is the best choice for packaging and cost but it doesn’t have the batshit crazy of dropping a 4-rotor in a VW beetle or a Cummins ISB in

That would be amazing but I doubt our local co-op would go for it.  I haven’t seen anything from the main electric utility here, but it’s been 2.5 years since I’ve dealt with them.

A big one in my area is that Apartment complexes either have no charging available or very few chargers. And the ones that do have charging are priced out for anyone making less that $75K a year. I would love to get an Electric for my commute but it’s just not feasible with my living situation.

You do realize that most of those “analog” gauges are run by an electronic sensor and are not like analog watches in any way other than looks.

A Porsche swap could be fun, especially if you pull it out of a 993.

Did not know that but it does make sense.

It still doesn’t make up for the fact that diesel is $0.50 a gallon higher than 87 octane most places.

Multiclass motorsport doesn’t work that way. You only compete against those in your class. Overall victory is pretty meaningless.

It will have to be amazing, considering it will need to be able to sell 15 years after it’s debut.

From the Lordstown Motors website.

It’s no longer Workhorse Group. It is Lordstown Motors. I’d upgrade them to 1 HL since they at least have a plant (well a sign outside of a plant, at least).

I’m sad to see this engine go. In the Mulsanne Speed it pulls diesel torque numbers from a gas (probably should say petrol). Screenshot from Here.

It’s Willys (pronounced like Bruce Willis). I really don’t know why the Willy’s thing annoys me so much.
