I bet he’s one of those assholes who affects a southern accent, too.

Wasn’t he Daisy’s father?

One of our greatest Yankee traditions. We should celebrate it each year with a reenactment of Sherman’s March to the Atlantic.

Ran into something like this earlier this weak when I brought up that we need to start considering the economics of a fully automated future. And since I work in industrial automation, I got the “Well why don’t you quit if you’re so woried about it?” comments. My only response was “Because I have to fucking eat.”

Well that’s just downright friendly of you neighbor.

I completely missed that whole paragraph. Oh well.

Coming to a porn movie near you...

I like the concept, but what type of 4x4 system is it using? Is it a selectable system (preferably with low-range) or like a haldex AWD (the base van is FWD after all)?

Is now a good time to remind everybody that diesel Land Cruisers used to carry the BJ prefix instead of FJ?

This why I laugh at the conservative idea that the EPA has overstepped their mandate and have done enough good by now.

As long as you’re staying on road the Armada is fine maybe even good, but the current platform doesn’t really compete with the 200 series Land Cruiser anymore. It really competes with the Sequoia. Look to the Australian touring off-road (what we call Overlanding in the US) scene to see that the current Patrol isn’t

Neutral:

The RC211V is the only one I think that can compete with the RC166.

Isn’t that the opposite of defamation. I’m pretty sure a piece of shit would be offended to be called Vic Mignogna.

Here’s a hint, just because the guy over there has it better than you doesn’t make him the enemy. Look at your situation and ask why you aren’t being treated as well before saying that they don’t deserve it.

What I do for a living is design industrial automation systems. You know the ones that allow for a plant or factory that used to have hundreds of employees to now be run and maintained by 20-30 employees. Granted the job is much easier on those 20-30 employees, but what happens to the rest?

I work in an industry that is literally putting people out of work and I’d like to know if their is a plan when this industry finally achieves it’s end goal of making human workers redundant. I’m too empathetic of a person that this inevitability will not force me to worry.

Yes, it was. The easiest way to tell that this isn’t an Escort (and is in fact Sierra based) is that it has a longitudinally mounted engine.

I don’t have the answers. All I know is that the US needs to change very soon (if not now) if there’s any chance of the US still being a true world leader. Otherwise, I fear that on our current course we will be a “third-world” nation within my lifetime.

You’ve just gotten to the crux of the argument for Universal Basic Income. If there are no jobs (pretty much the inevitable end game of automation/artificial intelligence) then the system will need to change to accommodate this new economic society.
