He doesn’t work directly for RBR anymore. I forget the name (and I’m too lazy to look it up) but he works for a design house that is owned by Red Bull but is independent from the RBR and Torro Rosso.
So what is the plan as automation takes over and there are no longer any paying jobs? I’m a fairly nihilistic person but just letting people die of starvation and exposure is too dystopian even for me.
If you believe a bunch of stoners, it was mostly due to the Hearst family having large holdings in timber (mostly in northern Mexico). Hemp grows much more quickly and makes good paper (and certain varieties make marijuana), so they lobbied congress to make it all illegal.
They’ll chafe, but we’re at the point where sugar-coated bullshit isn’t what’s needed. Those who are offended are the ones that need to hear without nuance because they will pervert anything else to fit their narrative.

This was fairly common to see on LeMans cars for a while due to the fact the rules required a spare tire to be with the cars at all times. I don’t remember when this rule was removed, but I believe it was in the late 50s-early 60s.
I’ve run into that mentality of “we have to build it exactly to code” all the time when doing electrical design. The concept that the law is only the bare minimum and that you are allowed to exceed those standards seems to be a foreign concept for most people.

Yeah, I’m much more impressed with what Ulrich Baretzky did for the Audi LMP program. Making a race car quiet but still competitive is a lot harder than making a loud car that can’t get out of it’s own way.
