Much like the old Top Gear surveys in Britain, they rely entirely on the owners of the cars who choose to participate. In a country where most people can’t be bothered to vote in elections, it’s not surprising that people don’t participate.
The newer torque converters seem to have gone to an electronic lockup instead of the stall converters from the past.
It would make sense that it shares a lot of parts between the dual clutch and the manual. They are part of VAG who’s DSG is basically their manual with hydraulic controls and a different housing.
It’s a detailed analysis of an essay where an old white man bitches and moans about losing his ability to be offensive without consequences.
The VW DSG system is also similar to these. It’s a manual with hydraulically operated clutch and shifting and is amazingly fun to drive in manual mode.
Well at least someone gets it, but I do have one caveat to add. Torque converter automatics with lockup capability can get rid of that laggy response. The one modern one I know of that does this is BMW on the ZF 8-speed in the “sport” modes, but from reading through comments it seems that Porsche and AMG do this as…
Is PDK the ZF 8-speed or the 7-speed dual clutch unit?
Jim Hall used to do this with his Can-Am cars in the 60s. It was a built 3 speed planetary auto with the valve body modified to where it couldn’t shift automatically.
Every anti-fascist I know, myself included, is of the exact same mind. We really don’t want to fight but if that’s what we must do, then we will fight and take as many fascists down as possible.
I’m not talking with 20" wheels. I grew up with 1/2 ton 2 wheel drive GM pickups ranging from 76-06 in model years. All of these trucks had a bed floor height of a little above hip high on me (5'8 with a 31" inseem for reference). I will give credit to Ford on this because theirs on a 2 wheel drive 1/2 ton is a little…
My guess is it was a rubber check. Cashiers checks and cash only if I’m selling and you don’t receive the car until the cashiers check has cleared.
Yep he’s that rare individual who has three surnames.
It’s not just about length. They have gotten much taller as well, which makes them feel much larger and has the added side effect of making them much less practical for hauling things in the bed. The bed heights on new full size trucks is just ridiculous.
According to Wikipedia it’s short for Lehman.
It would be better if it did, but I’ve always heard it pronounced as “Lee”.
Thank you for writing this so I didn’t have to. Also, there are a couple other female writers on Jalopnik, but I’m not sure if they are staffers or freelance like Stef.
It’s more like Frieza in Dragon Ball Z. I’d post comparison pictures but I’m lazy and really should be working.
At least someone did. Everyone else is taking it way too seriously.
I decided when I subscribed to it to go through the Watergate season first. I think it was probably due to the similarities of our current situation.
