Well by the articles definitions of reading yes, I looked at the words and recognized them as English. I also believe all of the words are spelled correctly, but I'm not 100% sure.

I'm not sure if it's "proper etiquette" but I try to keep eye contact as much as I can while I'm talking, mainly because I fear if I look down I'll make the moment even more odd. A friend's wife doesn't tell me when she's about to feed. She just sits down and starts feeding so it still throws me off a bit.
