To clarify, I didn't mean so much financial success, since by that, Michael Bay is a very successful director. I would include computer animated films like Garfield and Smurfs because I see the same problem; although the creators are trying to blend them into the real world better.

Outside of say, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, has there been any successful human/cartoon movie made?

After playing with Windows 8 DP yesterday my first thought was of OSX when it first launched with the Classic Environment. Until Apple removed Classic, OSX felt like a transitional operating system and that's what I took away from my time with Windows 8. I'm guessing that we'll slowly see the "Windows 7 Mode" slowly
