@Mosaic: Yah, it does make the world a worse place. My friend had just started working as social worker. He was shot trying to break up a fight in front of a convenience store. If he had lived I think he would have done a lot of good.

I had a friend die in a similar manner. It makes it hard to help others in trouble. Especially when you have a family of your own. :(
