See my story. Drove a SW20. HATED it. And I had driven a 1st gen Corvair (swing axle), I don’t know if Toyota fixed the SW20, but there was something messed up with the rear suspension, especially with the early ones. Felt like an insane amount of bump steer or something. Only car I’ve ever been scared to drive. *

Definitely, check out the rear hatch and area of a Porsche 944, they are cavernous.

Also, measuring the limits of the cargo space and the opening you’re putting stuff through beforehand is a big advantage. I still remember the expression on the face of the sales assistant at Sears more than a decade ago when I bought a five cubic foot tub freezer, collected it at the pickup counter, slid it into the

That, and learning on a 2WD car will help you pay attention to what your car is doing instead of simply mashing the ‘go’ pedal all of the time.

And I once AutoX-ed a Purple/Burgundy Dodge Dynasty. Did I lose, yup, but I wasn’t last.

Seriously? A car for a mile each way at 16?! You lazy fat murrican fuckers should be fucking ashamed of yourself. Get a bike or walk, FFS. The planet is dying and shit like this is a massive reason.

Do NOT get the VW. Any VW. Because they are finicky, fragile cars that have one of the worst reliability track records. If you are 16? Seriously, just get a used civic, corolla, or some other appliance vehicle and use it through college and THEN consider getting the “fun” car when you graduate. The supply chain issue

Just get a Civic hatchback, put snow tires on it if you need to, and call it a day. Reliable, good gas mileage, hatch gives you some room to lug crap to college in a few years.

This happens when you try to ford a Ford through a fjord.

If he didn’t see it, he shouldn’t have a drivers license. If he did see it, he shouldn’t have a drivers license.

Also calling BS that he didn’t see it.

Off-topic, but I worked at an auto show the year the 500 first came to North America, and how the guy doing the hourly presentation overexaggerated the Italian colour names will be forever seared into my brain.

Some of those look fantastic on the back of a wrecker too!

HAD vans for many years and preferred them, as I could sleep in the back during race weekends. HAVE a sedan, so we’re set up for people-hauling, but the Silverado gets used the most exactly because it has the most usable room. It’s a 2018 with the “variable” V8 which delivers incredible mileage (mid-twenties on the

That’s the National Cathedral in DC!

Big vote for the new Nissan Z. Thank you for offering a manual. I’m a huge Z fan, have owned a Z31 since ‘03. My dream is to own an (original) Delorean, but they are currently demanding disgusting prices. I mean, so outrageous its disheartening. (esp. after the Wife said I could get one after we finish our kitchen

I lived around DC for a while. Getting in to wherever i wanted was usually pretty easy. Getting out and back home always ended up as “fuck it, just go straight and you’ll hit the beltway somewhere and you can figure it out from there”

I want them stuck trying to maneuver through Dupont Circle in rush hour.  That’ll teach ‘em.

Well, shit. If it’s good enough for an internet stranger’s epidemiologist’s former roommate, it’s good enough for me!

I should have elaborated more! I daily drove the car to/from work for the past 10 years. I bought it under 40k miles. Other than the road noise being a little much (thin top, loud tires), all aspects of the driving experience have exceeded my expectations.
