First of all, when did florida man get insured?

Yeah, that is always the kicker. If they did what they did with the Veloster/Elantra, I am very interested. That was a lot of really good work to develop those N versions.

I thought about that but beyond a mild modification in ride height, a tire option, and upgraded power, what real dynamic differences are there?

Just upgraded brake and tires aren’t “performance” variants, neither is software tuning. That is all trim packaging. It is like saying that a Msport is the same as a M car. Saying “Track mode” does not make it track ready. Telsa, to my knowledge, has the exact same suspension packages (or at least so darn similar)

“Normal” people don’t care about a torsion beam. Normal people might thing a torsion beam is a type of headlight setting. I agree Mazda going that direction was a mistake... for enthusiast.

Sterile and safe to the point that signing the financing paperwork or declining the extended warranty is more exciting. Actually, they are feeling more and more like just a quicker ScionTC

Great for the money? They are pushing $40K now and realistically, to get the bits you want you are likely in the 41ish range. (And the VW penalty box is the worst so don’t claim a base MSRP either). The lest expensive in my area was $34.4 before destination etc. The cheapest WRX is $29.9K before destination. The

huh, who would have thought Hyundai and their “N” division might be the first market “performance” variant of a normal EV.... (and not some halo model etc).

typo there, I was meaning just the Corolla Hybrid, not the hatchback. But then there is Corolla Cross Hybrid  that... sigh will ensure that there isn’t a hatchback hybrid. And by the way, the Corolla Hatchback is tall-person unfriendly with a lack of legroom in the rearseat. So with Toyota, you options are either no

I bet most Kevins and Karens just are NOT going to pay THAT MUCH for a Ford Edge....

About 1 in 6 men are over 6' but only 1% are over 6'4". Tail of the bell curve. There are more people under 4'10 (2%) than over 6'4" and even then a lot of auto makers do not accommodate them either. I worked in a motor fleet and was in/out of vehicles all day. From 2010 through 2020, you noticed that loss of headroom

And this is the problem ^

Agreed 110%.

If you weren’t going to use the back seats, let me show you the GR86...

That being said, maybe they need to make their cars heavier... and less arson-ry

I typically dislike Volkswagen (I just think differently than their process), but I outright HATE the GTI

Hummer H2

Like any tire choice: IT DEPENDS!

The best 3-row option for “adults” is called a Minivan.

Yet, still more practical than a Jeep Gladiator....
