I'm a "SJW" (as assigned by neckbeard basement dwellers) and I approve Jango's message.

That's a great example, and one that highlights the other issue of men dictating what is and what is not a "feminist-friendly" female depiction. But, that's another diatribe altogether...
It's a cultural difference, mind you, but "power fantasies" do tend to vary from person to person. I think the American male power fantasy is actually just to be in a position of great wealth and power over people. The female power fantasy is probably something like Bayonetta but not quite. Close, though.
I see where you're coming from, and I agree. Our culture is simply not a sex-positive culture. Sucks.
I would most certainly agree with that. Being offended entitles a person to abstain from said thing which offends them. They can also speak against it, and talk about it frankly. And enter discourse.
Yes, absolutely. And that's exactly my point!
No. Bayonetta does not clash with my views. I'm a sex-positive feminist— as are a good many feminists. Her character is empowering and kick-ass, and she doesn't just exist to be eye-candy. It doesn't get a pass either because I am actively acknowledging what could be problematic about it to some people. (i.e. the…
I dunno, I feel like the people who aren't offended are in the overwhelming majority. You must keep in perspective that the loudest voices on the World Wide Web are usually the minority. That said, there are things that should offend in this world, and I feel like Bayonetta exists in a weird grey area.
I feel people should feel however they want, and that includes the people who disagree with those people.
I love this. As a feminist and a gamer, this is my view on Bayonetta exactly. However, I think it's within anyone's right to be offended by Bayonetta just as much as it's my right to find her empowering.
spot on.
... Aha!
It's a video game.
That was very interesting and insightful. Thank you!
If you're saying our (the West's) media standards aren't fucked up, that's false equivalency and you're wrong. Very wrong.
My guess is that it's honestly still in pre-production. We won't see a release date on that thing until this time next year, if it even finds a script in that time.
Well I know what I'm doing with an hour of my work day.
Troll moar
Okay, sure, but is there incest? And waifus?
I mean, you're right. The playing field is leveling out for Android, particularly in relation to iOS, but it's still not nearly as much the closed environment that iOS is. Each new generation of iOS device has roughly the same specs (A7 or A8/ A8X chip, 1-2gb of RAM, etc. this generation) when compared to Android…
