Hmmmmm... I don't know. Character development for Big Boss is slow, but it's there. In Snake Eater, in Peace Walker there were significant challenges to his character. Maybe not so much Portable Ops. And I've noticed he's got an intrinsically different personality than Solid Snake. I feel like Big Boss has an

Ah, Nintendo's old guard. Their persistent problem.

True! I never bothered with the multiplayer, but now I'm curious.

No... Oh god... oh god, no... I was trying to save up for a new TV. Not now! NOT NOW!!

True! The Killer Instinct re-imagining by Double Helix was surprisingly good, despite my initial qualms about the pay-to-unlock format, and I guess that's kind of my case in point. You could outsource these IPs to other, more competent, companies and they could be quite good. Now I think of it— and this is just me

I suppose you're right but risk-taking is good business sometimes. Sony is rebooting a game (Grim Fandango) that didn't sell very well at all. But, like Conker, it reached a cult status in its absence from the gaming landscape, and because of this, it'll probably do well.

Hah! I can agree with you there. Didn't say I understand it, just that I guess I can kinda get what they're doing.

Yes, that game looks amazing. And yeah the games hold up really well. I have Banjo 1 and 2 on my Xbox 360 (the HD remasters actually play and look really well— shame they never really even advertised they're on there) and I play DK64 at least once a year and honestly they don't feel dated to me in any sense.

True... on their part it's probably just timing. Spreading out releases for... some reason haha— for instance Yoshi's Island on VC released just after Yoshi's New Island for 3DS.

Ah, yeah, fair enough. I'm really unclear on the timeline of events in this game. Odd to me that the bulk of it happens before then seeing as nearly all of what we're seeing in trailers is of a slightly unhinged BB.

I'm happy to see some of the trademark silliness of the series return, but I also wouldn't have minded a completely stoic presentation in this game— it is a pretty dark chapter.

For sure. The fracturing of that studio is one of the biggest blows to platform gaming ever. With them went the AAA 3D platformer.

I'm sorry but that Conker reveal gave me a severe case of blue balls. I thought they were doing a clever segueway in to a new game reveal.

Which... I wish they would btw... Though Conker would never return in his Bad Fur Day format if Nintendo bought it, but still... Banjo.

Licensing is probably an issue. Lots of these licenses have either expired or are under tight lock and key. I know there was a lot of battling to try and get Rare and Microsoft to allow them to publish Rareware 64 titles through the shop. And it never even ended up happening, tragically.

THIS GUY!

Kojima also has a propensity for straight up lying to keep his content secret. After all, you do remember Moby Dick Studios, yeah?

Keifer is 110% Big Boss. It's happened and will continue to. If Hayter returns it'll be as Solid.

Big Boss' arc is way more interesting than Solid's.

Horses shit so it's both realistic and fits in with Kojima's weird propensity for potty humor.
