Yes, that game looks amazing. And yeah the games hold up really well. I have Banjo 1 and 2 on my Xbox 360 (the HD remasters actually play and look really well— shame they never really even advertised they're on there) and I play DK64 at least once a year and honestly they don't feel dated to me in any sense.

Licensing is probably an issue. Lots of these licenses have either expired or are under tight lock and key. I know there was a lot of battling to try and get Rare and Microsoft to allow them to publish Rareware 64 titles through the shop. And it never even ended up happening, tragically.

This is the only concrete evidence I've seen. "V has come to" refers to Big Boss, as his new name is Venom, so that's that for a lot of the original rumors. Either way what you said about a divergent timeline sounds super interesting though.
