I don’t want my house to stand out at night if the population has turned into zombies.

I think the power wall is a dead end. The power supply is too stable for the average person to need it. Possibly if the regulatory environment changes and we use them as storage on a large scale for extra on-demand storage on the grid.
I want to say they kept it in house during the ‘08 crash to have access to the TARP fund. Then sold it after to create cash flow for a post bankruptcy GM. My timeline may be off though.
I may be wrong but I think they do make money on the actual cars. It’s the expansion and R&D that is causing the money drain.
GM financial was a saving grace for GM for years before it was spun off as Ally.
I think they do make money on each individual car at this point. The credits will eventually disappear and that revenue will be gone but the expansion and R&D is what is a money sucking black hole at this point.
Sure, a lot of my claim is based on anecdotal evidence and data that doesn’t exist. But I’ll play. You basic premises is arguing a negative. You can’t be proven wrong but you also can’t be proven correct.
Does the supposed overstatement of capabilities cause the accidents?
Wrong side of the crazy/hot scale for sure.
It is valid to assume that this given incident wasn’t caused by autopilot. It is also valid to point out that you can accomplish something that Musk says is impossible with very little difficulty.
The name is intentionally misleading to over state the capabilities of the system. That’s not really an argument.
Tesla has tried to account for human error, but I don’t think it is their responsibility to plan for blatant abuse of their system.
Why am I not surprised at any of this?
Dirt cheap safety gear is probably not the gear you want to trust your life with..... Just saying.
So what you are saying is that Tesla fans are like pickup truck drivers with calvin stickers on the back window?
Well trolled.
It’s your brain tricking you into finding faces that aren’t really there. For example, the face on Mars, or the moon, or any number of geographical features that vaguely resemble a human.
I don’t understand why GM would be trying to downplay its own ambitions, but maybe there’s something they know that I don’t.
That was a great movie.
