The whole episode was a total star turn by Penner, and a good reminder of why he's now been asked to play 3 times. If Survivor did Emmy submissions like scripted TV shows do, this would be Penner's submission episode.

She is immediately in the pantheon of all-time great wild cards. The upside of keeping someone like her around is that you know you can beat her, but the downside is that she is completely and utterly impossible to predict or control, and she can so easily sabotage all of your plans in the blink of an eye. Was anyone in the world surprised to learn that Jeff Kent apparently thinks President Obama invented taxing income from game shows?

No matter what happens at this point, she'll have gone to every Tribal, since worst case scenario is that she lands on the jury. Stephanie came close in Palau, but there was that one double elimination episode where Koror had to vote someone out too, and she wasn't at that one.

Ah, I missed that "original" part. Nobody from the "fan" tribe has ever come back from Micronesia, either.

No, Shii-Ann came back. All the seasons through Heroes v. Villains have had at least one returning player. I don't remember who's supposed to be coming back next season, so I don't know which of the post-HvV seasons don't have any returners. Probably Nicaragua, maybe One World?

The way the challenge was set up though looked way difficult. It would be one thing if they were just holding weight up, but trying to keep a rod from twisting using just your hands is not easy.

When Abi implodes that alliance it is going to be glorious. Penner's the walking dead, so is Skupin probably, and I don't care if they get rid of Jeff and Monkey Face, but she'd better have that meltdown before Denise's name comes up.

Pete gives off a very distinct Sash odor.

I think you're really underestimating Denise's ability to stick around in this game.
