TV is a more collaborative medium than you are giving it credit for.  Harmon's might have been the dominant voice, but there are a lot of other people making the show what it is.  I actually think that TV actors have become somewhat undervalued in just how much they bring to the table in shaping their characters.  7

I appreciate that The Sopranos can't always (or often, even) be bang-bang action, but "Kaisha" is essentially a season finale and it just lies there, lifeless.  It's a perfect indication of the disdain that Chase had for the audience at this point, giving them an episode that offered no compelling reason to come back
