The game releases February 2nd. They had the “alpha” back in November, three months before release. The game has been in development for like 8 years or more.

Not gonna lie, that made me want to go watch some more “Harley Quinn” (the animated series), which absolutely would be that self-aware.

I suck at PvP shooters but am pretty good single player and was really looking forward to the PvE mode. Now I have no reason to ever play this game.

Frankly it’s just absurd to just assume it would have sucked. Whatever else you want to say about OW, it’s clear that Blizzard knows how to make a mechanically competent

There’s certainly a metacommentary to be made about how most lower-tier supes should probably just load up on guns, but I sincerely doubt that this video game is going to stick its neck out and actually commit. It’d be hilarious if it did, though.

Yeah, the best thing about The Avengers was the unique skill trees and play style for each character.  It was such a shame it was buried in that live service game.

My favorite part of online games like this is that we have zero control over it and if the developers want to change up a mode that we love all we can do is stop playing.

Lots of unfavorable coverage, followed by a delay, followed by more unfavorable coverage, and now “Oh god please talk favorably about our game but absolutely do not let people see our game”.

At this point, Overwatch 2 is basically the rake gag from The Simpsons

It was a poor choice to only allow limited number of media and “content creators” to comment in the first place. If you’re going to let people talk about a part of your closed alpha, let people talk about it.

You can reload manually or automatically. It uses an Active Reload system like in Gears where if you press the input again during a specific window, you can reload faster. This makes sense for a cover shooter because the designers want you to say behind cover. It makes zero sense for a run ‘n gun shooter where the

does King Shark eat people.

It’s a real shame, bc suicide squad could be the foundation for a very inspired xcom-like.

I don’t see the issue with devs swapping genres. I think a lot of studios have done so successfully. But yeah if it’s motivated by the executives, it’s probably not gonna turn out well.

Only with less personality, at least Avengers wasn’t “just give everyone guns” as the way each hero played factored more into their unique hero identity rather than just “Captain america with a rifle”

If the only good thing about a game is the cut scenes, it should be a TV show or a movie, not a game.  I say this as someone that really prefers a game have good story/lore, as I want to be invested in what’s happening.  On the other side of the coin, though, if it’s a boring slog to get from one bit of story to the

you’re right, but i do like when developers branch out. rocksteady just picked a horrible branch.

i am genuinely excited for ‘Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League: All Cutscenes 4K’ on youtube.

So it’s basically Marvel’s Avengers.

While I’m sure it’s not doomed to the same fate and all...

If you want to play a modern version of the good Arkham games, just play Insomniac’s Spiderman. Bespoke, narrative side-quests and detailed environments crafted with clear intention - along with that sort of ‘dodge and parry when this icon is above your head’ gameplay that, when done right, feels slick as hell.
