The rationale is that the dealer lobby groups in state capitals are among the strongest, tightest and best-paying participants in government.

I’m pretty sure they’ll just keep charging the same fee if this goes through, and just pocket the profit.

Brother, as you know, dealers have been doing this for decades without these huge problems. This is DIGITAL dealers. This is CARVANA. This is auto manufacturers and Tesla. companies that have “disrupted” the space and now claim the rules everyone has had to follow for decades are too restrictive.

Most FL dealers charge upwards of $700-$900 for a "dealer fee" on top of the tax, DMV, and paperwork fees...they can eat this cost.

It costs a dealer more money to title a vehicle in a customer’s name than it would for the customer themselves, because the dealer has to pay someone to do it.  It’s weaksauce, but that’s exactly what the justification is.

Excellent info thanks for sharing

As someone who worked at a FL DMV, this is bad and I didn’t work as a clerk, but in IT. There is a reason dealers are required to do this as parts as transactions and within time periods. Bigger dealers do title transfers and such if they have the personal and proper equipment. Small dealers bring the deals to the DMV

By Carvana. Traditional car dealers have been working within these models for decades without a problem. That’s why you see the law now, in the specific state where Carvana is about to lose their dealer’s license.

Sometimes the simplest solution is so easy to see that you seek alternative justification.

Because Florida? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I guess we just found out the answer to “Ready or Not”

Can’t wait for the new Howard the Duck movies!

This is the correct take. They have not achieved relevance for the younger crowd and folks who might be interested have better things to do.

Poor take. Because among your circle of friends it wasn’t popular means that it wasn’t in the top 40 albums of the year? Literally every music publication in existence and to this day would list it in the top 10 of that particular year. It typically is in the top 100 list of all time records. You may dismiss it but it

Let’s say you were 20 when The Score was released. That means you are 45 now. At which point the mere thought of changing into party clothes, pre-gaming, getting to the venue, waiting for 4-6 hours for a 7 song retro act, and getting yourself home early enough to deal with shit you gotta do the next morning, is

Hey, if you are going to be a one hit wonder, it helps if it’s a pretty great hit. “Ghetto Superstar” is, as the kids say, a bop.

Naw it’s accurately rated, the recent backlash is due to her homophobia but miseducation is still rightly considered a masterpiece by almost everyone.

Because it’s staggeringly over rated? And didn’t she jack over the actual musicians? Plus 1998 was loaded with better records: Black Star, Aquemini, Moment of Truth, Capitol Punishment, Jurrasic 5, Book of Human Language, Next Step,Steal This Album, Soul Survivor, It’s Dark And Hell is Hot, and there must be 20 or 30

Realistically, was probably best to get the cancellation over with ahead of time rather than when everyone’s in their seats.

I liked Fugees a lot, but could never really get into any of their solo work that came after, especially Lauryn Hill. Bought the Miseducation album expecting a can’t miss, but played it couple times and just put it up.
