“And some conservative spouses of [Microsoft] executives read it…”

He's not wrong.  It’s great for blowing off steam, and it’s even more fun with a partner.

I can hardly remember any Spider-Man comic where he did not do exactly that - constantly quip and joke in the middle of a deadly fight. He often gets called out for this by his enemies too. I think this Spider-Man was really very much on point.

Peter’s whole thing is that he’s constantly, constantly talking during fights because that’s how he deals with the stress of it. Villains call him out on it all the time, and the game even has a moment where Peter as Peter makes a joke after a serious moment with Octavius in the lab and apologizes, saying it’s how he

I mean.......that’s literally Spider-Man. I know the comics sometimes portray him as a goofy idiot, but quipping is his core. Indeed, it’s got to the point that when Spider-Man ISN’T quipping, he’s pissed off and about to royally fuck you up. And if he isn’t saying ANYTHING, it’s enough to make you worry for your

And there was that really fun thing with Miles’ dad! Way too lighthearted.

Batman won’t kill you, but he will absolutely fuck up your life.

I sure hope so, though I dunno who gets final say on that—if it’s Disney it might not be too easy to pull the M rating. I don’t know how those deals work.

Yeaaah, you gotta own this haha. Excessive and geeky quips/banter is key to his character and always has been. Isn’t that even the special skill for one of his suits?

As long as it’s not Mac Gargan I’m fine, dude was hands down the worst Venom ever. Probably Harry Osborn, spoiler statute ended long, long ago.

Dark Yuri Lowenthal? Are we getting Two Thrones' Dark Yuri Lowenthal? Hoooooooooboy!

Spider-Man gonna Spider-Man

Good, I’m glad they’ll stop covering such lighthearted stories like Aunt May’s fate in the first game.

I’m curious why you would play a game called Spider-Man and then complain that Spider-Man is in it.

Being a quippy do-gooder is literally Spider-man’s entire thing.

This could work. It really comes down to how well you can sell the gradual corruption of the upbeat, do-the-right-thing Peter from the first game into a more brutal, visceral vigilante.

Yes, how dare they make Peter in the game spiritually faithful to the comics!

Correct me if I’m wrong, but we don’t know for sure that this iteration of Venom is Eddie Brock. In fact, the credits stinger of the first game would strongly imply it will be someone else, who I won’t name due to spoilers. That said, yes, it’s possible that maybe Brock will still play a role as an earlier or later

If you’re annoyed at Spider-Man quipping and having a deep moral core then I’m not sure why you like Spider-Man.

I’m all for a little more edge in a game with Venom. As long as Yuri Lowenthal is still doing Spider Man, I love his humor and tone. The darker villain can be a nice foil to how light Spider Man can be.
