That’s a solid idea, having the South be “rebellious” against certain cultural norms of the North. I can dig it. Here’s to hoping they manage to make his other flaws, and strengths, compelling without that bit.

...that reads like you’re not even responding to the substance of my point, but okay.
Honestly...yeah, it is pretty wise of them to gauge that this “Saturday morning lesson” may not translate well to a live action character played by an obvious grown man. Though I actually do think they lose a little something, if they’re adapting the whole of Book 1 and don’t tie in Sokka’s flaw with the sexist attitud…
Not to gas them up cuz they’re also shite in their own way, but Walmart ended up delivering a couple packages to me same day, and that was during the holiday season. The competition is improving.
In my opinion, all of those ideas lack any real weight compared to what the original show was able to capture with his sexism. Calling it a “kids show” implies that children don’t encounter these real, difficult interactions in their lives growing up and are somehow incapable of processing what’s happening. Many of us…
“We underline that the claims by the Ukrainian side are unfounded as Milos Bikovic is, above all, one of the most popular and the most talented Serbian actors of his generation who, despite his young age, has already left a mark in Serbian as well as international cinema.”
throw a smoke, rev my chainsaw, go into the fog is a bar
The West’s complete ignorance of the sub-car motorized transit market aggravates me to no end, especially since it would be the perfect urban arena to develop in most US cities (were there the political will to prioritize them over cars in city centers). Gogoro’s efforts in Taiwan put me on to the idea: https://electre…
Are you referring to:
I really enjoyed the conceit of this. It was a little jarring how it kinda just drops you in with the boat, but once I got into the groove of it, I found the combat loops really enjoyable - and I mostly enjoy games like this for the narrative and aesthetics (the mythological integration blended better than I expected).…
My PS2 Slim’s power port is damaged, but you bring up a good point. Might be a cheaper and easier fix for those titles.
Hands down the most offensive part of the game and nearly broke all immersion going into the final act. So stupid.
I know it’s been said already but well done on this write-up. Balancing the technical details for both educating the uninitiated and thoroughly engaging the enthusiasts takes skill, and you did a great job of that. I’m not even the target audience and even I was considering exploring the catalog by the end.
If they did a PS1/2 clone, I just might give up on my dreams of fixing my fat 60 GB PS3. I mean, I’ll probably still do it for fun, eventually. But I won’t need to in order to enjoy the collection.
That is comically grim holy shit
I had that one! But then I went on to play a bunch of DS and 3DS games while never playing my copy of ALBW heh
A courage that Ke Huy Quan expressed so beautifully in Everything Everywhere All At Once
Nailed it. Miyazaki understands that the enemy is harmful ideas and their tangible effects, not necessarily the people perpetuating them.
Oh I misspoke, when I say the “source” I was referring to the original series - not the comic itself. But your reframing of it as more a continuation of that story makes it more palatable. Thanks for clarifying, the reviews I initially saw didn’t make that clear.
Oh like I said, I’m not surprised by this in the slightest. Spin-offs in television have been a thing across genres for decades. Never read the original comic, but I can see writers coming up with their own side stories within that world.
