I’m not vouching for the ‘phase flop’ term (never heard it before this article), but there’s definitely an oddly antagonistic subset of fandom that seems to revel in attacking the creators of their favourite shows, often over trivial or even unavoidable slights like a cast member dying or leaving the show. Remember

I was about to dismiss this as exploitative trash. But then you say Ben Shapiro hates it.

Except Cera had nothing to do with pulling the plug on AD. Cera worked on AD until it was cancelled, and then was happy to work on it again when it got continued by a new studio.

I can’t remember the comedian, but the best line about the Scottish attitude to swearing was, ‘When you hear someone from Scotland say “fucking”, all it means is a noun is coming.’

In hindsight, maybe I shouldn’t have shoehorned that cannibal serial killer subplot into that Singin’ in the Rain reboot spec script.

You don’t have an agent? But you’re a published writer! Who orders your champagne and caviar?

It’s weird, but it can be easier to write compelling narratives for made-up characters. When it’s your own life experience, sometimes it’s difficult to discern a telling detail from trivia.

This sounds like is Edwards going back to his roots but this time with a medium Hollywood budget rather than a shoestring. What he achieved with Monsters is amazing. It’s got flaws, but it is one of the greatest examples of microbudget moviemaking you’ll ever see. I’ll give this a look hoping that Edwards can navigate

I know it doesn’t have any sexual innuendo, but surely even worse is Mace Windu. The heroic betrayed leader should not sound like someone trying to catch their breath after being pepper-sprayed.
