Yeah, was gonna say the reason so many silent films are lost is that old film stock decays rapidly in normal conditions and is highly flammable, so it’s dangerous and expensive just to store it. The cost of keeping a movie on a streaming service is the cost of a few gigabytes on a small number of servers.

Mathew, are you sure that the residuals are entirely dependent on the subscriber base? I would be very surprised if there was no factor for viewer numbers. Otherwise Stranger Things would be generating the same residuals as Space Force.
