This. Going to a movie isn’t cheap anymore. There are no $5 matinees anymore, honestly there are no more matinees period. It’s $14 - $17 a pop for one person not counting overpriced popcorn and snacks.

As just one example, ‘Hidden Figures’ isn’t anybody’s idea of a “prestige drama”. It’s a very entertaining movie that also happens to have humor, drama, heroism, romance, science, and Janelle Monae. There may be other reasons you don’t care to see it, but fearing that you’ll be stuck in a “prestige drama” is not one…

They’re missing out on some good stuff then; Moonlight, La La Land, Hell or High Water, Hidden Figures, these were all great films.
