@FriedPeeps: It's really not. My grandmother is in late stage Alzheimer's and even though she doesn't talk anymore, she still smiles and hums along to music from her early years.

@jedimaster: But the problem is a lot of patients lose their physical ability before their mental. I remember that my grandmother could still hold a conversation after she lost the ability to even feed herself. Now, she's in a nursing home, and we simply play CD's in her television.
