What if one complains about both? I don’t hold Star Wars to rigorous standards of logic or physics or what have you, but I definitely think that there’s a continuum of how well or poorly it can do its thing.

Better than the prequels in every way. You seen many movies?

There’s a whole limited series comic from 1996 called Shadows of the Empire that covers the whole time period.

Yea I was thinking the same thing, the plan seemed obvious. They used all of the pieces they had to slowly infiltrate Jabba’s palace so when they made their big move they would have allies everywhere.

There was a reason why RotJ was considered the “bad” Star Wars for a long time.

Yes exactly, you can’t over analyze these movies. The plan was to sneak everyone inside, unthaw Han, then smash the place up and escape heroically by the skin of their teeth. The OT movies were very much in the vein of old-school adventure serials where specific plot points were less important than grand heroic

“Forcing some people to rank it below the new Disney installments or even (gasp!) maybe one of the prequels.”

He also dies pretty easily for a Sith master. Like too easily. Like it was a comedy and not a serious space opera.

With the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, entitled “fans” have spent months now whining about any number of grievances, nearly all of which boil down to “Girls! Yuck!”

Given the number of other articles on this network of sites that boil down to “If you didn’t like TLJ you’re probably a misogynist, racist, or not a real Star Wars fan” I find that very, very hard to believe.

What’s it like living in a bubble and ignoring everything that doesn’t conform to your worldview?
