That’s probably a little overstated. A while back when race cars and road cars were somewhat similar in what they had to survive and neither really had much in the way of safety features, sure, but crash protection on road cars and race cars have kinda diverged in recent decades as technology has developed and racing

At the very least, I’m sure they can write off the damages as a loss come tax time.

Maybe you need to look harder. I’m in Utah. Our inspections are $25 and these shops stay in business no problem. They’re efficient and get cars through their garage in 15 minutes which is MORE than enough time to plug in an OBD tester, check the brakes and ball joints, headlights and taillights, and the exhaust.

I don’t doubt that they say that kind of stuff, but that doesn’t mean they can legally hold your car hostage. They can try to guilt you into paying them to do repairs all they want, but they’re going to do that whether you’re getting an inspection or having your tires balanced. Hell I once had a Goodyear service

With how much fuel this thing sucks down, they probably couldn’t make it all the way around on a single tank.

What state is that because I have a hard time believing the business model works in one place and not another.

Yeah it seems to only be their six speeds. It’s odd, but again, not really a problem. Some people get it to go away just by using different MTF.

Lift-back... Turrrboooo...

No shop has ever had the legal authority to hold a car over a safety issue. We can’t throw out the baby with the bath water here. Shady shops will always exist regardless of whether or not inspections are required.

By checking that the brake lights work?

There is. When I lived in Texas, there was one year where for reasons I can’t remember anymore, I didn’t get a registration sticker after I got the car inspected (something about it getting lost in the mail?). It took a month to get it resolved and I got pulled over five times while I was waiting.

My 9-3 was more reliable than my Accord by a large margin. It’s problems were pretty much limited to window motors and an oil leak or two, but by that point it had 250k on the clock.

Every six speed Honda manual I’ve ever driven was notchy going into third gear (S2000, TL-S, SI). Kind of a weird quirk, but not really a problem.

Having owned an 02 V6 Accord, you made the right decision. My trans started slipping at 40k and had to be replaced at 80... And again at 130k... Best part was, even though there was a TSB for the problem, none of the dealerships would honor it because the issue was supposedly fixed for all cars after 2001 even though

Not worth it. Just live walking distance from where you buy parts. What do you mean I’m being unreasonable?

Not a single complaint about the dick shaped confetti during the post-game celebration? “Lombardy trophy” my ass. Those were billions of dicks fluttering through the air.

It’s not really THAT small. They’re only a little smaller than a Miata. The 2000 wheelbase is only 3 inches shorter than a Miata although it’s significantly lighter. It’s really more that the 2000 has all of the safety features we’ve come to expect from a 60s Japanese car that should worry you.

That’s my thinking too. If you look at the close up shots of the Mercedes T-wing, you can see that it’s designed to direct air down towards the rear wing. That means the T-wing itself will actually generate some amount of lift, but obviously Ferrari and Mercedes think that the added downforce they’ll get from the rear

I’m surprised THIS is the picture you got from this game rather than Sutton’s jersey saying Gringo Waste on them. Oh I’m sorry I spelled it wrong. It was Green Go Waste

Something tells me local data storage isn’t going away. What with the whole need to be able to run a computer off a local drive and still be able to, you know, use it when then internet is down.
