Ugh, seriously. At the point where he just needed to get rid of them, he should have taken just about any amount. Did he think he was going to make a profit?

That’s the direction I lean in too. But I will say that because so many of these are excellent candidates for restoration, they may actually pull a decent price, whereas the cars rotting in Ron Dauzet’s field were by and large worth next to nothing, even if they may have been in good shape when parked. At least these

Here for the inevitable “Collector or unlicensed junkyard operator” comments and ensuing discussion:

Before the E46 wagon I had a Suburban (ahem, yukon xl) with rear barn doors. Similarly, you could use one to hold stuff in while opening the other. I didn’t have a dog then, but still appreciated the barn door for its ability to split-open. I think on that vehicle the rear glass opens separately if you have the

Good eyes! That one I think is a Cannon 80th sticker, but yeah, we ski up there all the time, it’s about 35 minutes from us.

This is how the E46 did it, so it’s likely they still do...

Can we also talk about the wiper mechanism back there? That’s worth an article all on its own. The wiper motor is (of course) in the door. But the wiper mechanism is attached to the glass, rather than being permanently fixed to the motor and parking itself below the glass. So now when you open the glass, the wiper

haha, no, both my cars had one and I passed both on to the new owners of the cars when I sold them.

Kind of like the old Trivial Pursuit question (does anyone else remember the Genus Edition?): What is the cause of every human death? The answer being, “lack of oxygen to the brain.”

Ah, but I always have car seats in the back. Being able to carry 4 wheels/tires without folding down the seats is key to me.

I used it ALL the time on my E46 wagon too. More than the full hatch, for sure.

On my E46 wagon the glass part was coil spring-assisted, no pistons. And the main hatch was held up with two standard gas struts that you could replace in about 5 minutes each.

I had two E46 wagons over a span of 10 years ending just a couple weeks ago, and I used that glass ALL THE TIME on those cars. Way more than the whole hatch.

Took me so long I said f**k it

1. Buy this for $22k

The seller should bring this straight out to Hyannis on a Friday, it’d be sold within an hour.

Thanks, yeah it’s in good shape but also plenty of cosmetic imperfections in and out. It isn’t a garage queen, and I have kids and dogs. But I also keep it as near perfect mechanically as I can.

Thanks? I do love it, but we have 3 other cars and just don’t need a fourth.
