I think this is a great point, and couldn’t agree more. You don’t blame the drone manufacturer when people fly them in places where they shouldn’t. It’s a new capability that people have never had, and they’re going to explore its limits. This is not the fault of the company. I won’t even touch the parallel to a…
As a resident of central New Hampshire, my town fills with Massholes (a widely accepted term - there’s even a bumper sticker) every damn weekend. So long as they leave some money behind it’s fine with me.
I agree - this is true for a couple inboard ski boat forums I’m a member of. Those things are not held to the same standards of build quality of a car. And everyone modifies their boats. It’s a good friendly bunch of people who are all just trying to help each other have fun.
That’s an unfortunate trait of the type of people who boy those cars and also use the forums, perhaps. I’ve found the BMW forums are very hit-or-miss; there are some genuinely nice people but there are a few vocal dicks, too. God help you if you don’t overhaul your cooling system.
Maybe they can slap a Tesla P90D drivetrain into one for this purpose.
As someone who used to remove the governor on gas-powered golf carts and drive them like rally cars on closed dirt roads and trails, I object to the notion that they are not sporty. They practically define the “slow car fast” variety of fun behind the wheel to me.
You did not specify where to pull over or when to stop, Elon. I was only trying to make you happy, Elon.
I was under the impression that the car would pull over and stop if you didn’t respond to its requests for input, or to take control. But maybe it was way too late in this case. That, and the driver was using it in a totally inappropriate place and time - a winding back road in the dark.
I was thinking about this the other day regarding financial decisions.
Came here to post this. This is exactly how I read that headline...
I am just looking forward to the day when every new car I get into isn’t different from the last one in terms of the keyfob and starting/stopping procedures.
Seriously. He must go like 15 mph around off-ramps.
Came to NH from TN like that, also towing the boat you see being forklifted off the trailer. Wow, is all I have to say. I mean, that is a damn heavy truck but still.
I always thought it was better to under-promise and over-deliver. But then it amazes me when a company is doing something so in-demand (e.g. Apple) that it nearly doesn’t matter what promises they make or keep. The Early Adopters will wait faithfully in line and everyone else will likely look foolish for criticizing…
Pretty sure that’s a Bugatti, bro
I spend several hours detailing my car every....... hmm. Evey time I go to show it to a potential buyer. That’s about it.
That car never moved another inch in its life. It was disabled right then and there.
