Was the body shaming really necessary?
Was the body shaming really necessary?
This is only one form of FGM, the most severe one. There are degrees, ranging from removing the clitoral prepuce (the most similar to male circumcision) all the way up to this.
In some forms of FGM, both labia are cut away and the opening sewn shut except for a very small hole. It makes sex incredibly painful and childbirth extremely dangerous without modern medicine.
There was a UK doctor this year (maybe last year) who was investigated for the same thing. He returned a Somali woman’s vagina back to the state it was before the birth and was promptly informed by one of the nurses “You do know you’ve just committed FGM, right?”. He was cleared of it, but he shouldn’t have done it.
I think this should be banned 100% worldwide until the girl is an adult who can make the decision herself if she wishes to have it done (for whatever reason).
Most other western countries perform these in hospitals. And the NHS guidelines are put in place by NICE (National Institute of Clinical Excellence). Practicing doctors are just as poorly positioned to make judgements on healthcare policy as politicians. A doctor could do 1,000 operations in less than…
Well, in my country, abortions are performed in National Health Service hospitals or private sector equivalents. Serious complication rates are 2% of abortions in America and 0.125% in the UK. The mortality rate for abortions in America is 0.6 per 100,000. In the UK it’s 0 per 100,000.
I remember that. I’m pretty sure it was trolling. Got some bites though.
Needs more stars (and people need better senses of humour)
Europe in general lost a lot of the technological advances made by the Romans. We didn’t get many of them back until the Renaissance.
This is not a requirement of child support. There are numerous examples of men finding out the child they have been raising is not theirs, but that doesn’t absolve them of child support responsibility.
Amen. Again, this is something that pretty much the entire rest of the developed world (Except you, Ireland) has figured out. Hell, there are fewer restrictions in Italy, home of the Pope.
In this case, then yes, it is a blatant attempt to block abortions.
In the UK, it’s about a month. Though this used to be partially because the ruling party could call a snap election at very short notice and so would usually do it tactically when they had the highest opinion polls. Not sure if it’s better, but it’s less annoying.
Completely unrelated to the rest of the article but, yes, to the first question. I figured I was the only one.
Happy for Winsonsinites.
I haven’t seen a female garbage collector (or bin man as it’s known here).
I’ve been told that being white is a plus in the job market, wouldn’t this be a significant plus?
No, it’s sad that you can’t see past her race. The only reason you’ve stated for disliking her is that she doesn’t deserve to feel sad because she’s white. That’s some ugly shit, right there.
Is there some scale of how much melanin you’d prefer people to have before they deserve to feel sad?
