I just turned 30, I've never worn glasses or contacts, and I'm about to go get a pair for the first time. My left eye has always been a little nearsighted but because I'm right-eye dominant, it wasn't a problem. The past few years has seen a sharp decline though (my left eye can only focus about a meter or so in front

I'm wondering if perhaps they're creating a system that abstracts the generation of the polygonal model from the game asset itself. To explain:

"He also [said] 3D tablets that don't require glasses are right around the corner"

@12345: Usually I read through the "About" section on the company's website. You'll usually find company history, mission statement, and other general company info. The high-level stuff in there should help direct you towards any more fine-grain research you should do, if any more is needed at all.

Finally! The lack of a mobile app was the only thing keeping me from giving Wunderlist a shot.

@TehBeardMan, @trois: Me three. They'd be wise to pick Lifehacker readers :-]

@jupiterthunder: "So what happens if a person hosting a pod doesn't have the same good intentions the founders do?"

@jupiterthunder: I see the key difference with Diaspora being that the entire experience is based around separating your various different "lives." Lists in Facebook, while offering the same functionality, are more of an afterthought; they're buried in the privacy settings, and - as the replies in this thread

I read this post, and immediately felt an intense twang of discomfort at the thought of being offline for an evening. I think that says a lot about how badly I need to incorporate this (or something like it) into my life.

Oh my god, this looks like exactly what I needed. I've just had a disastrous week, 4 sick days and absolutely zero productivity. It always puts me in a 'down on myself' rut that just seems to take forever to get out of. Stuff like this helps put it back into perspective.

In before a crapload of creepy comments about the girl in the picture.

This is some of the worst "security" advice I've ever heard.

Oh and definitely don't lock the phone if you don't have a touchscreen! "Slide to unlock" doesn't work very well on a Dash :/

Hahah lol that looks like shit, sorry but that was dumb as hell. I love Honda but come on.

It seemed pretty useful, but I have a habit of using [Windows]+D to bring the desktop to the front and effectively minimize all windows, and doing that makes even the thumbnails disappear. It's a problem I've had with a lot of "taskbar replacements."
