Actually the aluminum foil will corrode into harmless aluminum oxide in a few short years. The coffee and paper inside will be consumed by various organisms. After a few years the only part left is the little plastic cups.

Personally I am hooked on my Kensington trackball. I can configure the buttons to do anything a gesture can accomplish with a button click. The Trackpad is more precise and I prefer it. I tried the "magic" trackpad. I hated it for a desktop machine.
