@oneshot719: You could do this with pretty much any scripting language - AuntoHotKey, AutoIt, Python, Perl, etc.
For me it was a hardware incompatibility on my laptop. My atheros card kept pissing out on my once every 6 months or so and the tools provided in windows were totally inadequate for the job. So after a little research I dual booted Ubuntu - no particular reason, just happened to be the first one I came across.
