So wrong to see Hannibal at #1. That show really has absolutely nothing going for it except aesthetics and acting.

Much like Gilmore Girls, the musical references on OItNB never strike me as genuine character details but writers flaunting their own tastes. (Did anyone really believe Rory listened to Sonic Youth?)

I love her voice and I think she's gorgeous, but she seems a bit stoned all throughout Meet Me in St. Louis.

This is excellent news. I've only ever seen a crappy .avi rip of this; very excited to see the blu-ray.

None. But between me and Woody Allen, he's the only one who 1) took nudies of his ex-girlfriend's teenage daughter 2) started a relationship with said teenager 3) pontificated on how "open-minded" having a "love nest" of 12-year-old girls would be, and 4) was accused of molesting his daughter.

For a senior citizen whose wife started out as his teenage girlfriend and ex-girlfriend's daughter—yeah, it is, in fact, fucking weird. There are a lot of details you have to leave out here to make it sound like they're just a normal, happy, healthy couple who wanted to expand their family.

I didn't take any agency away from her at all. Whether she wanted them or not doesn't change how weird it is that he wanted (or agreed) to adopt them.

I don't really have an argument here besides the fact that it's fucked up and highly suspicious that, considering 1) his advanced age 2) all the other accusations swirling around him and 3) his crack about how great it would be to fuck a bunch of 12-year-old girls, he decided it was a good idea to adopt more…

Pardon me, only one of them is Asian. I thought the other was Asian because of her name, but she's white.

Woody and Soon-Yi adopted two Asian girls. I'm sure he was getting his fix after she was too old for him.

No no, Woody and Soon-Yi fell in love. Despite the age difference, despite the language barriers, despite the fact that she was his ex-girlfriend's daughter, they overcame these obstacles and found each other in the fog. A true love story for the ages. They're American royalty. *~Schmoopy sigh~*

So, basically ripping off Marina Abramovic, when plagiarism was the thing he was apologizing for. . .

Yeah, if you already knew about him, I imagine you would be. I don't think most people did, though.

Wouldn't Cosby be the opposite of schadenfreude? He was a childhood icon and ideal father figure for many people. I don't think many relished his downfall.

I just realized that the author of the book I'm reading on transcendental style in Ozu/Bresson/Dreyer's works is the same guy who directed The Canyons. WTF. . .

Well, there you go. Pretending you're more powerful than The Asteroid is playing God.

Bears are still around, though. As Malcolm says, dinosaurs had their shot and nature selected them for extinction.

That is one big pile of shit.

The third JP is only about 3% better than the third TMNT.

The only time I ever felt real terror was when Laura Dern was running from the raptors.
