Can you hear that whooshing sound? It was the entire point of this post going over your head.

I thought it was an interesting read, and considering it's centered around web hosting, it unquestionably centers around technology.

The ironic thing is that 30 years from now, when technology will be deeply embedded in every aspect of daily life, the only to way secretly send information will be to step away from those technological advances and rely on more archaic forms of communication like "pencils" and "paper".

Your comment would make sense if that golden cage was the only place for someone to live. His point is that Apple's App store isn't the only place for devs to sell apps, so it's not like that information has no way of getting out.

For the record, the only expected features the iPhone 4S didn't have were a new cosmetic design and larger screen. It had completely new internals, a reworked antenna design, far superior camera, world-phone capable cellular chip, and Siri. Virtually every single aspect was changed other than the casing and screen.

He's probably right. When it's released the first week of March, it's going to be at least a couple months until most people will actually be able to find one to buy.

You must not have a tablet with cellular data, or a use for one. I use the 3G connection on my iPad 2 at least every day. When you travel a lot, you simply can't depend on a fast WiFi connection, let alone any connection at all in most places, and virtually every app I regularly use requires a data connection.

Buying an iPad 2 right now wouldn't really make any sense in most cases, but, there are a few circumstances in which the savings would make it worth buying an outdated device.

This should excite anyone on Verizon or A&T, regardless of what 4G device they prefer. We can all expect 4G coverage to explode now they Apple is on board.

Not likely. If anything, this is only going to reinforce their already hardened legal stance regarding copyright. The one time they didn't double down and use their full-powered lawyer gauntlet, they ended up getting potentially screwed.

At least you know how to properly browse the web in comfort.

Now playing

This Android-based smartphone screen one-upping thing is starting to laughably resemble the blade count one-upping in razor blades.

Exactly. The people out there doing something impressive with their life are 100x more likely to attract someone to have sex with than the guy living in his parents basement, watching YouTube clips.

He says as he sits in his cushioned chair in nothing but underwear, staring at the computer monitor with the heater running on high.

Good call! Because people never film extreme sports activities like this unless there's some hidden motivation behind it.

The beginning of the end is nigh. The fact is, a system as "open" as Android will always be prone to malware. Compared to PC's, smartphones are 10x more valuable as a potential target in the mind of a scammer because they contain 10x the personal information.

Hey, you're not alone. I've heard that numerous times through the years and always believed it to be true. This is the first time I've ever heard it refuted.

This is one of those posts I have to keep myself from becoming too excited over, because it involves something that most likely won't see the light of day anytime in the near future.

I agree that one must exercise caution when taking information from any entity with inherent potential to benefit from that information..

It's kind of like the chicken or the egg, someone has to jump first. If the headphone industry is never pushed, they'll never have any reason to change. I'm sure they'd be more than comfortable with keeping up the status-quo and not spending the millions it would require to make such a drastic change to their products.
