I agree that ultra hi fidelity in vehicles is kinda a waste. I disagree that good to great stereos in vehicles are a waste. That said, stock car stereos have come a long way since the 90's. The stereo in a new Civic Si is miles above what came in a 1991 SE-R.

I find the American argument over front plates a bit silly, given that they’re a requirement in almost every other country in the world.

Here I was, thinking Subaru was a Japanese car manufacturer. Where, just so you know, front license plates are required - as we’re not like, concerned about ‘personal freedom’, or whatever wads your panties these days.

Paint matching is difficult for a lot of reasons. You have to get the flakes of metallic to lie the right way, for example. And paint looks different in different lights. I had to take a class about it in a previous job, and it made me appreciate the difficulty for the paint guy at the body shop.

My front bumper needed to be replaced on my red Golf R. Took two attempts for dealer body shop to match it. In some light, like when I picked it up the first time, it looked perfect. In other light, it screamed OMG junk yard bumper!  Dealer fixed it, but I could not believe it was such a big deal.

To the environment fella: You’ve got a Civic, not a Sierra, you’re not using that much gas anyway. Drive it until someone makes a mainstream EV with enough range to fit your driving needs - and it’s a Civic, so no matter how long it takes it’s still going to run fine until that happens.
