You’re welcome, sarcastic one. I may not be a lawyer, but I have concealed carried for over two decades and certainly have read up on when use of force is legal, and when it is not. That situation was in the NOT column.

Face it, new autos are better performers than manuals.
In this episode of ignition Carlos Lago test the new M5 with a stick and he makes some VERY valid points.
I am sure I will be attacked by the other commenters here, but I deeply feel like a lot of people who crap on “automatic” super & hyper cars have never driven one.
For years all I have ever had was manuals in my cars (Miata’s, STi’s, M3, Corvette, etc...) and I was 100% the SAVE THE MANUALS!!! IF YOU DRIVE AN AUTO YOU…
There’s nothing wrong with personal preference, but the whole thing about manual transmissions is becoming a huge circle jerk that’s up there with atheism and “pcmasterrace”
I’m not rich, and we’re not friends....
This article is surprisingly devoid of the technical / performance reasons for this recent change.
Im just sayin.
Finally a real, honest answer!
What I wanna know is this: where are all the cars that truly let you connect with the machine you’re driving? The cars with manual choke, adjustable spark advance, and crank start? Man, those were the days. Even manual transmissions today have synchro gears! Come on, TRUE enthusiasts only double-clutch. Everyone knows…
Respect.

My parents were immigrants to America so we weren’t the wealthiest people. Both of them drove manuals for as long as I remembered. So what car did my mom buy when she had money? Lexus LS400. So while I’m an enthusiast and actively look for a manual, my mom and many wealthy people like her do not give a fuck
I’ll add that it’s bc the automatic is SO amazing these days. I don’t think there is enough written on how amazing autos are these days. If those cars’ automatics performed like a 20 yr old slush box does, then sticks would fly off the shelf.
Because I want t0 be able to put my starbucks in the cupholder where the stick would be, while I get a road blowie on the way to the club. Thats why.
TL;DR: because despite all our fragile enthusiast egos, computers still shift faster, and fast matters.
Plus the automatics of today are both faster shifting and more fuel efficient. Supposed to be, anyway.
