Great Danes are actually very, very gentle dogs. If you get one as a pup, he might even grow up thinking he's a kitty, too. The only worry I would have, would be him accidentally stepping or sitting on somebody. Those dogs weigh a lot!

As a vet assistant, let me tell you this happens all the fucking time. Usually it's not in that number, but a frustrating number of people allow their dogs to keep eating stuff like this, despite already having been to the vet at least once to get it removed.
