No, he said the merger wasn't proposed for the purpose of taking games away from the competition. It's splitting hairs, but he's not wrong. Besides, until we get a Last of Us port Sony's complaining gives me a warm feeling in the cockles of my heart.

How does KotOR get a pass because “Sony partially funded it” but Redfall doesn’t when Microsoft *wholly* funds it?

Why is it always seem like everyone acts like it’s a dick move when Microsoft pulls this kind of shit but shrewd and savvy when Sony does it?

Hot take: as long as exclusives are a thing, I don’t think there’s any reason Microsoft should have to provide games on PS5 any more than Sony should have to provide games on Xbox. The issue is exclusives in general. It shouldn’t be legal to keep one computer from running software another almost-identical computer can

I don’t get how you’re the only person mentioning SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs. Sony’s first console online shooter, two years before Killzone. Came out three months before Xbox Live. It was very popular back when it first came out.

Sony really did have a chance to build a game franchise that could have taken on CoD, but since they had to be dragged kicking and screaming into cross platform play, SOCOM died.
It was a competent enough game that had they ported it to the PC with cross platform play, it could have been a much bigger entry. But

Shows over.  Catch up or fuck off.

Whether or not MS can build their own successful IP doesn’t have any relevance as to whether this merger should be allowed by regulators. Mergers aren’t inherently prohibited by anti-trust laws. There needs to be a specific reason(s) to block any given merger and that reason is generally supposed to be “this merger

You don’t even need the MLB license, Microsoft! You have ten years to make your own super popular baseball game!

I distinctly remember the 2K games (outside of maybe NHL) were superior to the EA alternatives up until that point. And NBA 2k is still going strong-ish.

Sure. Except we’re not talking about what MS should or shouldn’t do. We’re talking about the specific regulator concerns about the merger and whether or not they have any merit when you consider the relevant markets and parties involved.

Actors lobby for roles/projects they admire all, the, time, on social media. It seems weirdly roundabout to connect it to the (failed) box office draw for Shazam.

Ironic that you bring that up, because it’s pretty much what happened when Sony signed an exclusivity agreement to keep all of EA’s sports games off the Dreamcast. Sega was forced to create their own NFL franchise (NFL 2k) which was arguably the best out there in the early 2000s, but was subsequently cut off at the

MS isn’t wrong. Sony has already developed a number of hugely successful first-party IP: Uncharted, Last of Us, God of War, Gran Turismo, etc. At most, CoD comprises maybe 10% of their total console software revenue (and that’s being generous).

“This is homophobia”?

So just gonna play the odds here and say the spinoff takes place after Royale so he's already dead. It's just that easy.

Some people don’t deserve the internet, let alone a job.

Some absolutely terrible takes and spoilers from Sisi as of late. I try and let most of the articles and work stand on their own, but this is just bad “journalism”.

With all due respect, Akechi is a trash character. He is a combination of two anime tropes, neither of which are interesting on their own, and don’t become any more interesting when combined. He is the edgy character for the sake of being edgy, and is easily the least interesting of the playable characters whose

Akechi was one of the worst characters in the game. His story was mostly predictable and he was never, in either version, a believable member of the Phantom Thieves.
